2022 LAUSD Spring Semester Reopening
by Karen Huang
As DMHS students resumed back to school after a three-week restful break, they had to endure another crash on the daily pass website, delaying their arrival to class on time. At some point, due to the long lines, staff members allowed students into school if they had a record of a negative test in their system, without needing to show their daily pass. After a three-week break where students and staff enjoyed holiday gatherings and vacations, the contagious Omicron variant had plagued thousands of students and staff throughout LAUSD, causing a delay in their return to campus. On the first week back, classrooms consisted of vacant seats, along with many students getting pulled out of classrooms and identified as close contacts.
