Juno the Vital Space Probe
by Andrea Herrera
The journey of the probe Juno—a spacecraft JPL created to learn more about our bewildering gas giant began on July 4, 2016. It has taken a total of 6 years, 8 months, and 4 days to habituate around the orbit of Jupiter. The mission of Juno led to the successful collection of 3+ terabits of data that’ll be used in scientific research, completing 35 orbits around Jupiter and granting us amazing views of the gas giant and its surrounding moons, Europa and lo. The mission enabled us to get more information about weather and life beyond its atmosphere. Soon after the initial mission came to an end, JPL decided to extend the space of the probe's mission to become a Jovian System Explorer.
