Meet Our Class of 2024 By: Matthew Kuang and Derek Hoong
Another year has passed and a new group of seniors has emerged. The Class of 2024 is now putting all their hard work into their college applications. They will be constantly writing essays, submitting AP tests, taking exams, and filling out applications that will potentially the inspire the admissions team at their dream college.
What do they have to say about their years here at DMHS?
Brian Nolasco, a passionate soccer player, is going to USC after his last year. “I’ll miss Scott the most, he is so nice and funny.” Brian urges incoming freshmen to take computer science. Michael Ung, the president of the ChessPong club recalls an embarrassing moment during his PE class with Mr. Rivero, “He made us do TikTok dances in front of the class!” Meaning to be involved with engineering and robotics, Michael has his eyes on Caltech, a school with a great engineering program.
Elia M. has been doing taekwondo since she was seven and is passionate about assisting students at the taekwondo center she attends. As president of the KP club, she hopes to attain her future goal of starting a new life on the East Coast by attending University of Columbia to experience their well-developed pre-med program.
Melody hopes to attend UCLA and insists that underclassmen should take Intro To Art and states that “The teacher (Mr. Wood) is my favorite teacher and lets students have lots of free time.”
As their years in high school is about to reach an end, harder challenges await them at their next stop. Some might want to go to college and pursue their dreams with education, and some might start a business in hopes of starting their career. The challenges that they might encounter is unknown, but their experiences at DMHS have shaped and prepared them. Welcome to our new seniors!
